The Organisation
started in 2001 in Umeå. Its object is to establish conctacts between
children and youth in Ethiopia, Somalia and Eritrea (countries which are
all located in what is often called the horn of Africa) and to find sponsors
for these children and youths in need.
Around 42 million people live with HIV/Aids in our world today. The situation
is worst in Africa south of Sahara where around 29 million of the 42 million
HIV-infected live. Many children who have lost their parents because of
Aids, malaria, unemployment and underdevelopment live in the area around
Africa’s horn. And as always it is the children who are most effected.
They are often forced to become street children, others have unemployed
or sick parents that cannot provide for them and they live much below the
minimum of subsistence.
The object of the sponsor organisation is to give the children an opportunity to educate themselves and in that way raise their opportunities for a brighter and more meaningful future—without housing shortage, disease, drug addiction, criminality or prostitution.
--Our work is to continue
to recruit new sponsors.
--We follow the children’s and youth’s development through Fekadu
Children and Youth Help Association and through direct contacts with them.
--Every month we send these children aid through the Western Union Bank.
--We send out information to schools, churches and make presentations about
organisation in various places.
--We also hold sponsor study circles.
